~General Rules~
We all know them and hate them, but please do your best to follow them and everything should stay shiny.
Respect
Show respect to your fellow Browncoats and players. No put-downs, insults or attacks pleas. This section includes discrimination---which is outlawed now and forever. Also, respect your admins and don’t harass them constantly please. If we receive trouble we shall kick your Fei fei de pi yan into the next ‘verse!
Plagiarism
Plagiarism is when you copy someone else's work, whether it is a fellow RPer's work or anyone else's. Just don't do it, especially on character applications and on relationship threads. If I see you copying someone else's work then my staff and I will fill in incredible stupid and amusing (to us) versus in place of the copied ones. Images do not have to be in stock, just use Google images to find your pictures.
No Spamming
We all know that spam is and I'm not talking about the lunch meat or the Monty Python spam. I don't care what your excuse is, just don't spam. Please do not post links to other sites in the cbox unless you are an active member talking in context.
Double Posting
Double posting is when a player posts twice without anyone else posting in between. This is never acceptable. If you ever need to make a change to your post, then please click "Modify Post" and make any necessary changes there. The exceptions to double posting are:
1. Bumping threads if they haven't been posted in for a week or more. 2. Posting in journals and relationships and other boards of that nature.

~Accounts and Characters~
Activity
Please log on and make a post at least every other day. If you are having computer problems and disappear all of a sudden, then we will track you down on other sites you may be on in an effort to find you, if at all possible, but we are not going to work our butts off if you don't make an effort. If you are going to be absent from the site for more than 2 or 3 days, then please leave a post in the "Leaving" board so that we don't delete your accounts.
Display Name
We don't care what username you use to join with, however once you have created your character, you are expected to have your character's name, both first and last, as your display name. If you fail to change it, then one of the admins will.
Character Creation
Please create one account per character and play each character on his or her respective account. We do have the alias code in working order on this site and if you don't know how to use it, then we suggest you PM Serenity to find out. You may have as many characters as you can keep active. Also, you must have at least 15 role playing posts with your first character before creating a second one and then at least 15 role playing posts with the second before creating a third and so on and so forth. Canons must be auditioned for and approved by both admins before you create a profile.
YOUR CHARACTER APPLICATION MUST BE ACCEPTED BEFORE YOU BEGIN TO ROLE PLAY!
Images
All images must be appropriate to people 13 years of age and older, if you are not 13 or older, then please don't join the site. No nudity, extreme profanity, or extreme horror elements on sigs. Also, only pictures of real people may be used to portray characters. There is a celeb claim, so make sure you claim your celeb before someone else does. Otherwise, your right to use pictures of that person will be removed. Also, sigs may not stretch the page, there is no limit on sig size now, but if people abuse their sig space then there will be. Also, everyone must have an avatar of their character's face and they have a week to get their sig (which should depict their character) in order. If you do not have a graphics program, then contact Simon Tam if you would like him to make you a sig. River Tam also has links to Firefly websites where you can find signatures ready-made.

~Role Playing Rules~
God Modding
God Modding, hereafter known as GM is when you take control of another player’s character and there will be none of it. Got it? Good. End of story.
Power Playing and Mary-Sues/Gary-Stus
Power playing, hereafter known as PP, is when you cause your character to become incredibly powerful and unstoppable and there will be none of that either. Also, we do not accept Mary-Sue/Gary-Stu characters, also known as perfect characters, so don’t even bother creating one, everyone has flaws.
Canon Characters
Canon characters are to be played realistically and in character, oh, and canon relationships are canon relationships. Deal with it. Original characters are being accepted at this time. You cannot claim actors in Firefly or Serenity for Ocs, unless they look significantly different or had no speaking lines in Firefly or Serenity. If you play a cannon character, they cannot miraculously change their ways without a good reason (And even then, they shouldn’t change that much) Jayne shouldn’t suddenly go around hugging people, Badger shouldn’t start handing out money and Simon is not going to be hosting Saturday Night Live.
If you haven't seen the movie, there are some cannon characters that you won't recognize. These people have been added to the list because we already know they exist. You need to see the movie before you can play these characters, but feel free to RP with them anytime. If you want to play these characters, you must be reminded again that this RPG takes place before the movie.
Literacy
This is a semi-literate/literate site and therefore we expect you to post at least 200 words per role playing post. Please use spell check and write with correct grammar and punctuation Please write in third person, past tense, not third person omniscient. In other words, your characters cannot ‘read’ each others minds…unless you’re River Tam.
ONE-LINER ROLE PLAYING POSTS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AND WILL BE DELETED WITHOUT WARNING, AS WILL TWO-LINERS
Realistic-ness
If we are seeing too many Browncoats, we will say there can’t be any more Browncoats until we have more Alliance and Unaligned, but the same does not go vice versa. Remember, the Alliance has superior numbers.
If your character is a Browncoat, they shouldn’t be ridiculously rich.
We do not want an over abundance of Firefly-class ships. Remember, people don’t really like them.
Do not add things to the ‘verse that are extremely high-tech. For example, if you’re character has a laser gun that can cut steel, that’s fine because they have similar technology. The magic word for your character application is 'blade'. But you cannot, I repeat, you CANNOT have a ship that goes at the speed of light. Things like that make your character too powerful and make it not as fun.
Don't Date Yourself
You cannot play both sides of a romantic or sibling relationship. For example, you can’t play Wash and Zoe, or Fanty and Mingo.
Chinese Swearing
This is encouraged, have your character swear in Chinese all you want, but you must provide a translation for any Chinese either at the beginning of your post, the end, or right after in brackets. The characters know Chinese, but not everyone here does, and it's annoying to have to go dig up translations.
